Elke’s trademark is without doubt the way in which she manages to translate new psychological insights into fresh and accessible day-to-day applications.
In 2011, she was named “Global Shaper” by the World Economic Forum (Geneva).
In 2014, she founded Better Minds, now an international team of around fifty psychologists, coaches, and consultants helping organisations increase leadership, productivity, and resilience.
As an author, she reaches a global audience with her bestselling books like Better Minds and Focus is the New Gold — published in English, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic.
In February 2027, her newest book, The Mental Revolution, will be published.
Elke shows like no other how to build mental resilience and focus – without fuss. Over a decade, she has held academic positions at Harvard, St Andrews, Maastricht, and Rotterdam, and was recently a visiting professor at Ghent University.

Some random facts
Elke draws energy from discovering all things new: new people, new insights, new challenges, new cities and cultures.
Only when she is with her family does she briefly let go of her focus on innovation and the future. Together with her daughters, Feline and Florence, she enjoys living in the present and cherishing their strong family foundation. She is truly in her element when travelling to her favourite places around the world: San Francisco, Cape Town, Kyoto and New York.
On stage, Elke also makes a point of wearing Belgian fashion. She is a proud ambassador for the Belgian fashion brand Gigue.
And although she frequently takes to the stage, Elke is an introvert at heart. She is passionate about interior design and can often be found on her road bike during the summer months. Her home also regularly features in interior design magazines. And whenever Elke needs to quiet her mind, the music of Leonard Cohen and Pink Martini is her secret weapon.
